New Trolleys
New pontoon trolleys now on site are specially designed Marina trolleys, double dipped hot galvanised and are a high quality item, Trolleys were considered for half the price in an economy version however it was felt that a product of higher grade better suit the needs of our berth holders.
Its always nice when arriving on site to be able to pick up a trolley and go! Its not fun pacing the pontoons in search of a trolley just to be able to go sailing, therefore, in the best interests of the berth holder arriving on site, please ensure that trolleys are returned to the trolley bay after use. Additionally, trolleys left on berths often end up in the water whilst your out at sea.
Hartlepool Coast Watch Fund Raising Day (May 2013)
All welcome to the Hartlepool Coast Watch Fund Raising Day
When: Sunday 26th May (Or following weekend if weather is inclement)
Where: Outside Hartlepool Marina Lock Office
What is it all about? An opportunity to meet your local coast watch and help raise vital funds for the organisation. You may even learn something that you thought you didn’t need to know!
What is the Coast watch? HARTLEPOOL Coastwatch (part of the Sea Safety Group) is a voluntary manned lookout station that opens seven days a week, 365 days a year (from 08:00 until 16:00 or longer if needs demand)
It is stationed at the top of the Tees and Hartlepool Yacht Club and commanding an excellent view of the Tees Bay and surrounding coastline.
These volunteers assist and report directly to H.M. Coastguard who annually test the stations for the granting of Declared Facility Status thus ensuring that we can summon a rapid response from the appropriate emergency service to any problem that may arise.
High technology and sophisticated systems such as radar and telecommunications have vastly improved safety at sea, but there is no substitute for a watchful pair of eyes. Accidents do happen and a computer or technology cannot spot a distress flare, an overturned boat, a yacht with problems, a water sports enthusiast in difficulty, or children or adults in trouble, or possible pollution incidents. That is why our lookouts and watch-keepers are an important service provider to all those who use our coastal waters, footpaths and coastline.

What Is It All About?
The Oxford Dictionary states that Freestyle is “A sports competition in which people taking part can use any style that they want” but what does Freestyle mean to Freestylers?
“A friendly atmosphere, with like minded people” - Keith Thomas
“Go out and do what you want on the water you don’t have set routine you go out and express what you feel and what you want to do, there is no right or wrong way of doing any of the tricks” - Anthony Burgess
“To me it’s just pure fun” - Craig Halloway
There will normally be three to five assorted judges doing the scoring, the freestyler being scored for getting in as many different unrepeated tricks as possible within the time, and successfully completing all of them. Spectacular big air tricks will not necessarily score any higher than a technically as difficult surface trick that may be more difficult to see, but as long as all the tricks “flow” together well, all the different types of tricks can carry roughly equal marks. This applies to surface tricks, underwater ones, and of course the favourite big air ones.
The FNT is a fun event that’s aimed at introducing new riders to the world of Freestyle. Anyone and everyone is welcome at the FNT, be it you just want to watch, learn something new, compete or just to have a family weekend away. The FNT caters for all with Saturday hosting the competitions and fun events like Zorbing in the evening and social Saturday night where riders can relax after competing with a drink or two (or three).

The emphasis of the weekend is thus strongly geared around Freestyle, Fun and Value for Money. The FNT has a strong brand image and a loyal core of riders constantly attracting newcomers. Why not come along and see what its about?
